At Marathon Mental Health Services, we believe that you are the expert on your life, so our approach is person-centered. We utilize evidence-based approaches to psychotherapy and counselling, such as CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy) which means that the work we do together is backed by science and research. Another treatment modality we frequently employ is EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing), which can be incredibly beneficial for a wide range of mental health concerns and wellness goals, especially when it comes to the treatment of trauma, complex trauma, and PTSD. For couples therapy, we employ the Gottman Method, which is a highly researched couples counselling method.
Modalities such as EMDR, CBT, and the Gottman Method can be helpful in measuring and identifying progress in your therapeutic journey, which lends to a sense of accomplishment and self-efficacy.
